North West Calgary is a varied and well-loved quadrant that runs from the established, leafy streets of Hillhurst, Sunnyside, and Briar Hill up through Brentwood, Varsity, and Tuscany. The University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital, and Alberta Children's Hospital all sit within its borders, giving the area an academic and medical pulse, while Kensington brings one of the city's most enjoyable independent shopping and dining strips just north of the Bow.

The Lifestyle

Life in the northwest is balanced and easy. Mornings often start with a run on Nose Hill or a walk along the Bow, followed by a coffee in Kensington or Brentwood. Students and faculty give the area a youthful current, while families fill the parks and rec centres. Dining out ranges from longstanding Kensington favourites to newer spots near the U of C and Market Mall. Weekends are split between Banff and Canmore for skiing, hiking, and climbing, and easygoing days closer to home at the Bow, Edworthy Park, or one of the area's many farmers' markets.
